Corn: +9
The corn market had a strong day as futures rallied through the session. The December contract gained 9 cents on the day and closed very near the high of the session. Spillover support was seen from the soybean market along with talk of improved exports. Rumors that China was inquiring about US corn were heard today. Today’s weekly energy report was also supportive as it showed production up solidly from last week. Ethanol stocks did show a small build on the week with ethanol margins remaining solid.
Soybeans: +17 1/2
The soybean market was sharply higher today with the November contract ending nearly 18 cents higher. Soy products were again the driver with soybean oil taking over today as it gained over 2 cents. Strong world veg oil markets have been the norm with Palm oil making all time highs. Soybean export rumors were also heard with talk that China was looking for US soybeans too.
