Mid Iowa Cooperative has launched a new app. Find it on the Apple App store and the Google Play store.

Monday April 11th

Corn: -2 to +2

The corn market traded higher for much of the session before finishing mixed. July futures lost 2 cents on the day after trading a dime higher early in the session. The December contract finished 2 cents higher as the old/new corn spreads were weaker. Corn was supported a higher wheat market, but lower energies helped to offset the support. The USDA did release a flash sale of corn to China in the morning release with most of the corn sold for old crop. Weekly export loadings were reported at nearly 56 million bushels in the morning update. This was down slightly from last week and last year but above the level needed to meet the current estimate.

Soybeans: -27 ¼ to +9 ¾

The soybean market spent much of the session lower and finished with moderate losses.  Nearby values were hit the hardest today with the July contract off over 27 cents with new crop losing nearly a dime. Soy products were also lower with soybean meal ending with a sizable loss. Continued covid concerns in China and the demand concerns was a bearish influence today. Soybean weekly export inspections were solid at just over 28 million bushels. This was up slightly from last week and well above the levels of a year ago.

Mid Iowa Cooperative has recently revised their HTA contract service fees. For details, please contact your Mid Iowa grain representative.
